6/05/05 Task Force Alpha
Mission - Task Force Alpha
- The Task Force Alphas are now playing every other weekend at Survival Games of Texas. We were able to catch up with them this past Sunday and had a blast! We are looking forward to more skirmishes with this group. Thanks again Task Force Alpha for inviting us to play.
Timeline Of Events:
A few Kapowwe employees, customers, and myself showed up at the Survival Games of Texas (SGT) a little after 9:00AM on June 5, 2005. SGT is actually a paintball field in the Houston area. Once you get a group of folks organized to play airsoft we suggest you contact SGT and schedule a day to come play. As you will see this is an outstanding place to have some fun.
After paying the $15 field fee, we were off to unload our gear.
We were the first to arrive so we started unloading the gear and laying out the weaponry in hopes of shocking a few paintballers. Our arsenal included an ICS M4 fixed stock, M4 c-mag, CA M203 grenade launcher, Marui MP5-J, ICS MP5SD5, CA M15A4, KWA USP compact gas blowback, a KWA M11, Marui G36C w/ grenade launcher, WELL M4 RIS (M82), and Cybergun 226 spring handgun.
Soon after the Task Force Alphas began to arrive and started organizing as well. They too had a wide range of weaponry such as Marui AK-47S, ICS M4, CA G36C, Marui G3-SG1, WELL P90, CYMA action shotgun, and MP5 electric.
After checking in, we all moved to the back part of the property, were we established base camp. After a short recon of the landscape, we were ready for battle.
We mixed the teams into 2 groups and and moved to the outer edges of the field and soon after GAME ON! I won't get into the specifics of the battle, but it was fast and furious at times. We did the same scenario a few times with each game lasting approximately 30mins. We then stopped to hydrate, reload, and to discuss the battles.
Me filling a speed loader... I like to shoot LOTS of ammo.... because I can.
Here is Jim testing the KWA M11 and waiting for the next mission. We have a short movie.
See video of KWA M11
Harley eating an M.R.E. that appears to be a Salisbury steak.... but who knows.
For the next game we again broke up into 2 groups. Oliver was the objective. Team A had to take Oliver to a specific destination without him getting shot or captured. Team B's objective was to take out Oliver. This was one of our longest games. I was on Oliver's Team A, but was taken out early in the game. Harley and 1 other team member ended up escorting Oliver to the destination and won the scenario.
We moved from our base camp to "The Fortress". This was a very exciting scenario. It was a mixture of long range shooting and close quarter combat (CQB). One team holds the fort and the other team takes it over. The fort looks similar to a medieval castle with stairways, multiple entry ways, doors, cat walks...etc. Outside the castle was a large tower where you place your best sniper to stand guard. Once the tower is taken over it is only a matter of time before the other team picks you off one by one. This was an ideal battlefield for a mixture of low-end and high-end weaponry.
Next we moved on to the Western Town. This was a favorite because we got a chance to use the M203 grenade launchers in combat.
You have 2 sides to the village each having small houses similar to an old western town. In the center are fallen trees, barrels, signs...etc. The objective to to simply take out the other team... but that is easier said than done.
Here is a very long video (11megs) of one of the battles (play movie)
Here is a very
short clip of the end of the battle
The person in the photo would be Neil. Neil and his brother Iain enjoy shooting unarmed camera men in the back (that would be me). Kapowwe is officially putting a bounty on Neil & Iain. If you play against these guys, give them a quick shot in the back and say "that was for Kapowwe". We will be happy to give you a $5.00 gift certificate to kapowwe.com.... all in good fun of course.
We encourage anyone in the Houston area looking for a fun group to airsoft with, or to test your own group's combat skills, to locate the Task Force Alphas. Look here in the future for a link to their website which is under construction.
